What it is

Pika is the AI food assistant inside PikaBox. Ask it what to eat, and it finds, compares and plans across everything PikaBox does.

Why it’s good

  1. Plans your week and turns it into a shopping basket
  2. Checks every suggestion against your household’s allergies and diets
  3. Never pays or books on its own: you confirm every step

Type it or say it, the way you’d ask at home. Pika looks across everything PikaBox does (recipes, pots, chefs, flash suppers and the market) and puts the best ways side by side.

Knows your house

Five people. One supper.

Tell Pika once. It plans around everyone, every night, without you repeating yourself.

  • Leaves out anything with nuts the moment Amani is eating
  • Low-salt versions on Sundays when Dad visits

A day with Pika

From 4pm to the last plate.

Smart in the kitchen, polite in your house.

  1. 4pm

    Supper ideas before you ask

On weekdays when you haven’t decided, Pika suggests a few: the spinach that needs using, the family’s favourite, a pot cooking nearby. At most a few nudges a day, and quiet hours at night.

Pika’s sheet: what can I sort for you, with the spinach and tomatoes that need using today
  2. When it isn’t sure

    It asks before it guesses

“The usual” could mean two things. Pika shows you both, with why it thinks so, and lets you pick, or tell it something else.

Pika checking before it spends: “the usual” could be two suppers, shown side by side
  3. Your tap

    You make the call

Pika builds the order and shows exactly what it will do: the dish, the time, the price. Nothing happens until you confirm, and you can undo before the kitchen starts.

Done, supper’s sorted: what Pika did after your tap, with the receipt and an undo
  4. At the stove

    “Are my onions done?”

During a cook-along, prop your phone up and ask. Pika looks at the pan and tells you when the onions are deep gold or the chicken needs four more minutes. Photos are not kept.

Pika is looking: the thick piece of chicken needs four more minutes, with a timer started
  5. If it goes wrong

Fix a dish, step by step

Soup too salty? Tell Pika and it walks you through a fix in a few short steps, and says plainly when something isn’t safe to keep.

Our promise

It does the legwork. You make the call.

Pika fills the basket, finds the slot and drafts the booking. The last step is always yours.

  1. Never on its ownNot a shilling, not a booking, not a post. That’s a rule, not a setting.
  2. Always your tapConfirm with a tap, your PIN or your face, and see the total before you do.
  3. Easy to undoChanged your mind? Cancel free before the kitchen starts cooking.

Memory you control

See what Pika remembers. Delete anything.

Every memory sits on one page in plain words. Change it, or make Pika forget it, in a tap. Nothing hidden, nothing sold, and nothing used to train models without your say-so.

  • Amani is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts
  • The family loves coast-style pilau
  • Dad keeps salt low on Sundays
  • Spinach and tomatoes bought on Monday
  • Supper is usually at 7:30 on weeknights

Questions

Before you ask.

Something else on your mind? Visit the help centre

  1. Can Pika spend my money?
No. Pika can build a basket, draft a booking or line up an order, but nothing is paid, booked or posted until you confirm it yourself.
  2. Which languages does Pika speak?
English, Kiswahili and Sheng, typed or spoken. You can set the voice, the speed and the language in Pika’s settings.
  3. Does the camera record my kitchen?
The camera only looks when you ask it to, and the photos are not kept.
  4. How does Pika know about allergies?
From your household: tell PikaBox once who is eating and what they can’t have. Pika checks every suggestion against it, and so do the filters across the app.
  5. Can I make Pika forget something?
Yes. Open Pika memory to see everything it remembers. Edit any line, delete it, or forget everything at once.

Ask Pika anything.

Pika lives in the PikaBox app and on the web. Ask it what’s for supper, in your own words.
